2026 graduation has been moved to Saturday, May 30 to avoid a conflict with the state track meet.
The Douglas County School District No. 15 school board voted Monday to make the switch during its monthly meeting.
Days Creek’s graduation ceremonies are typically on Friday, but the OSAA 1A state track and field championships are scheduled for May 28-29. The same conflict existed last year, but no Days Creek senior athletes qualified in 2025. This season, the track team returns a handful of senior athletes who qualified for state last year.
“Families would have been forced to make a choice as to which one to attend,” superintendent Joe LaFountaine said.Â
This school year’s commencement will take place at 2 p.m.
