As Thanksgiving nears and the food lists pile up, Days Creek has come up with an idea to help keep the community active during the upcoming holiday. While not all will be willing to exercise during their break, about 80 other participants have already signed up for the DC 5K Turkey Trot fun run.

D.C. Fit was started last year and is responsible for funding the fun run, which is fitting, considering they donated a grant that was strictly to be used for exercise awareness.  Even though the idea was thought-up about a year ago, Days Creek is only now able to do it because of lowered coronavirus sicknesses.

The Days Creek fun run will be held at Days Creek Charter School on Friday. While registration starts at 9:00am the actual run starts at 10:00am and as the fun run happens to be  the only activity being held that day, snacks and drinks will be provided for the participants. Although there may be some who want to participate but feel that a 5K run is a bit too much for them, there is also a 1 mile run that many have also decided to participate in. Rules will be gone over before the run begins and an ambulance will be on standby to help keep participants and fellow bystanders safe. Not only did the school get permission from the state to use the road but there will also be responsible people on the course as well as signs for directions and cones to direct traffic.
