Homecoming plans are starting to take shape.
After some initial doubt about the ability to have a bonfire because of fire danger, leadership advisor Rachel Matchett confirmed that it would take place. A burning permit was secured Tuesday, thanks to preparation and fire mitigation by maintenance staff.
The dress-up days will be:
- Monday, Sept. 18: Class colors (seniors: purple; juniors: green; sophomores: pink; freshmen: orange).
- Tuesday, Sept. 19: Grumpy grandparent Day
- Wednesday, Sept. 20: Ken and Barbie Day
- Thursday, Sept. 21: School-spirit Day
- Friday, Sept. 22: Hawaiian Day
High school students voted on he princes and princesses Friday. The homecoming court is:
- Seniors Kaleigh Loiodici and Matthew Thomas.
- Juniors Jayden Harden Quinn and Rossli Berlingeri.
- Sophomores Ruby Geiger and Drew Sawyer.
- Freshmen Bailey Little and Jonathan Morris
Homecoming court will ride class floats during halftime of the Days Creek-Powers football game on Sept. 22. The homecoming king and queen will be chosen from the court.
There will not be a dance this year, but there will be an activity night with music to dance to if you want. As of right now the activity night will be on Sept. 22, would start around 7 or 8.
A pep assembly is planned for Sept. 21 during school hours.
