The Days Creek football team will have a strong presence when the top 6-man players in the state square off.
Coach David Hunt has been selected as coach of the West squad of the 6-man all-star game, and graduated seniors Isaiah Sprague and Keegan Stufflebeam have been selected to play.
The game pits the top players from the east side of the state against the west at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. The game will be played on June 20.

“It’s a great honor,” Hunt said. “I get to coach one more game of football and meet kids I’ve coached against. I’ve worked a lot with Keegan and Isaiah, so I get them for one more week. It’s a good group of kids.”
The West team will have players from state champion Powers, Eddyville, Falls City, Alsea and North Lake. They’ll face a tough East team, where most of the 6-man teams in the state reside.
“It will be a good experience,” said Stufflebeam, an all-state end and quarterback for the Wolves this past fall. “To get the best 1A 6-man players in the state going against each other … it should be fun.”
Stufflebeam and Sprague graduated last Friday, the same day Hunt wrapped up the 2025 high school track season. Now they’ll shift to

football mode for one last time.
“I’m feeling pretty good,” Sprague said. “I’ve been staying in shape and actually have lost some weight since football season.”
Sprague was the starting center for Days Creek and will play the same role for the West team.
The selection includes four days of practices at the EOU facilities and spending nights at the dormitories.
“Once we get there, we get on the field,” Hunt said. “Me and the other coaches will assess each kid and see how they best help the team. We’ll do daily double practices in the morning and afternoon. We get offensive plays put in and defense and special teams.”
Hunt’s staff includes Powers’ Ricky Ostle and Barry Anderson of North Lake.
Oregon’s 8-man all-star game will take place on the same day.
