‘Mo the Spider’ is a children’s book about a spider who makes the most beautiful webs. “Mo’s webs were very sparkly. In the sunlight they glistened like strings of diamonds.” (from ‘Mo the Spider.’) He has an amazing talent he refuses to share with anyone else. Until one day, when he breaks one of his legs and is no longer able to make the beautiful webs as he had.
The book was written by Days Creek graduate Gloria Kruzic and illustrated by current Days Creek seventh grader Thomas Doolittle.
There is also a dedication to the “many, many kids that have gone to Creation Camp — put on by the Crossroads Christian Fellowship and South Umpqua Community Church each summer — and survived Goey’s tent, where Mo the Spider originated.”
Kruzic wanted to write a book for her kids, so that they could learn a lesson. The lesson was to “be humble and serve others with the talents that you have.” (as Gloria said in an email.) Doolittle said that he helped Kruzic to “let young children know God loves them.”
This is a good book for young kids, it teaches them to be kind and share with others the knowledge that they have. It is, as a whole, a story that can be enjoyed by all ages, even if they are not children’s books readers.
The book was self-published by Amazon KDP.
