GLENDALE – The Days Creek middle school boys basketball B team captured the Little Fir League title Saturday by winning all of its games.
The Wolves defeated Camas Valley, 14-13; Riddle, 16-8; and Glendale, 16-6, to capture the tournament title.
“I am very proud of our boys for the resilience they had to start the tournament and fight their way back to win the first game,” Days Creek coach Josue Nieves said. “It gave us the momentum and confidence to win our second and third game.”
Jude Sawyer, Jaydyn Young, Cooper Jones, and Thomas Doolittle were the leading scorers.
Days Creek is 6-5 this season heading into their season finale against Prospect. That is an improvement of five games from 2023. Days Creek’s A team is also 6-5 and finished third in the Little Fir League.
“Up to this point, our players have shown tremendous growth,” said Nieves, who coaches with David Brown. “Our season has been very exciting and competitive, I hope that we can continue that as we finish our season.”
