State FFA officers Taft Rice and Spencer Romans visited Days Creek Wednesday as part of their tour of the state.
The officers visit each FFA chapter in the fall. During the visits, the officers conduct activities for each class. Days Creek FFA advisor Mr. Lopez was the host.
“I love FFA and we plan on doing it as long as we can,” Romans said. “I love [traveling around] and making people laugh and smile.”
Rice is a recent graduate of Madras High School and Romans is a 2024 graduate of Nyssa High School.
Days Creek chapter vice president Jana Ewing enjoyed the visit.
“They’re amazing,” Ewing said. “They have good leadership skills and they’re so cool.”
Rice and Romans did an authenticity activity with the freshmen to explore character traits, conduct debating with the Days Creek freshman FFA team, practiced parliamentary procedures. They also sat in on Mr. Lopez’ other classes: physical education and home economics.
They’ve gone to 27 schools and will continue their journey north. They visit Glide Thursday and South Umpqua Friday.
