The Days Creek eSports team is switching video games.
The school’s video game team is now playing Mario Kart after spending the first two years of its existence on Valorant.
“We were asked by the [school] board to make a change,” coach and technology teacher Daniel Johnson said. Valorant is a tactical hero shooter game, according to its website.
Valorant is rated for T for teens by the Electronic Software Ratings Board while Mario Kart is E for everyone.
The team looked at four games as potential replacements, and students voted racing game Mario Kart as the ultimate replacement.
Three students are participating on the team this season. Practices are from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in Mr. Johnson’s computer lab, adjacent to the Vo-Ag room.
